B Capital, a global multi-stage investment firm, today announced the final close of B Capital Ascent Fund III, L.P. (“Ascent Fund III” or the “Fund”) at its hard cap of $500 million in aggregate capital commitments. The Fund was oversubscribed and nearly doubled the size of its predecessor, B Capital Ascent Fund II, following strong support from both existing and new investors.
The Fund will accelerate B Capital’s core mission to partner with extraordinary entrepreneurs to shape the future through technology. It will invest primarily in the Seed, Series A and Series B rounds of companies developing next-generation technologies across healthcare, enterprise, energy and the next frontier, with a focus on key innovation hubs in North America and Asia. B Capital believes AI is driving a new wave of innovation across every sector of the economy, creating opportunities for founders building the foundational technologies that will power the next generation of global industries.
“AI is creating extraordinary opportunities across every industry,” said Howard Morgan, Chair and General Partner at B Capital. “We believe the Fund is well positioned to capture this moment through our deep sector expertise, strong investor relationships and global reach. Central to our approach is an investment philosophy grounded in the fundamentals: backing outstanding entrepreneurs early and being a true partner over the long term.”
Ascent Fund III has already invested in more than 20 high-conviction companies across AI infrastructure, robotics, healthcare and frontier technologies. Since B Capital’s initial investments, companies including Apptronik, Havoc AI and Star Catcher have raised substantial follow-on financings to accelerate commercialization, expand manufacturing and scale next-generation technologies, underscoring B Capital’s focus on identifying high-conviction companies early in their growth trajectory.
“We have entered a technology cycle that is reshaping industries and business models worldwide,” said Eduardo Saverin, Co-Founder and Co-CEO of B Capital. “The most meaningful opportunities will not come from technology alone, but from entrepreneurs applying AI to transform industries such as healthcare, enterprise, energy and the next frontier. With support from our own proprietary AI platform, this Fund will help founders turn bold, breakthrough ideas into enduring businesses with global impact.”
“We’re grateful for our limited partners’ continued confidence in B Capital as we closed Ascent Fund III at our $500 million hard cap,” said Raj Ganguly, Co-Founder and Co-CEO of B Capital. “Their backing reflects a shared conviction that the next generation of market-leading companies will emerge as AI reshapes the world’s largest industries. This Fund advances our multi-stage platform, partnering with exceptional founders early and supporting them with capital and operational expertise at every phase of growth.”
The successful close of Ascent Fund III follows the close of its predecessor fund, B Capital Ascent Fund II, in July 2022 with $254 million in capital commitments.
