Globe Packaging has introduced Jiffy Foam Rolls as a CFC-free, recyclable packaging material for commercial and industrial use. The product is manufactured without CFC or HCFC blowing agents, in compliance with The Ozone-Depleting Substances Regulations 2015 as amended by the 2019 “EU Exit” Regulations. The rolls are available in four thicknesses — 1mm, 1.5mm, 2.5mm, and 4mm — to accommodate different levels of surface protection.

The introduction comes as consumer expectations around packaging sustainability continue to grow. An industry survey found that 22% of British online shoppers said they would stop ordering from a company if its packaging was not recyclable or was difficult to process. Globe Packaging notes that Jiffy Foam Rolls meet both environmental compliance standards and the cushioning performance required for transit and storage.
The foam wrap is manufactured from closed-cell polyethylene, classified as #4 LDPE, and is 100% recyclable through specialised recycling streams. While the material is not typically accepted by standard municipal kerbside collection programmes due to its low density, it can be fully processed at dedicated recycling facilities. Globe Packaging adds that the lightweight construction also contributes to lower fuel consumption during transport, helping businesses reduce their environmental impact without compromising packaging integrity.
The rolls provide shock absorption for delicate items, including glassware, electronics, and crockery, the team at Globe Packaging explains. The non-abrasive surface is designed to avoid leaving marks or imprints on sensitive finishes, meeting requirements for both protection and presentation.
