Honorees include nearly 312 projects, products, and services from Google, Adidas, Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, and others
PALO ALTO, Calif., Sept. 14, 2026 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ — ALSO (www.ridealso.com), an electric mobility company on a mission to build the world’s best small vehicles for moving people and goods, driven and autonomous, is proud to announce that the TM-B (Transcendent Mobility) eBike has been honored in the Fast Company Innovation by Design Awards for 2026 in the Product Design and Transportation Design categories.
Now in its 15th year, the Innovation by Design Awards celebrate the designers and businesses addressing today’s most urgent challenges while anticipating the problems of tomorrow. The program is one of the most prestigious design competitions in the industry, spotlighting work that exemplifies originality, beauty, sustainability, user insight, cultural significance, and measurable business impact.
Born out of Rivian, the TM-B eBike is ALSO’s first small electric vehicle. It’s built around DreamRide, the company’s pedal-by-wire propulsion system. With no direct mechanical connection between pedaling and the rear wheel, software defines the ride experience instead of a fixed set of gears. That same software can flatten terrain automatically, enable a curated workout and enable many more unique experiences, leveraging up to 10 levels of pedal assist. Its modular top frame switches in seconds, without tools, between a solo commuter setup, a cargo configuration, and a bench seat, and a five-inch Portal touchscreen handles navigation, ride modes, and connectivity.
“We set out to build the world’s best eBike in the TM-B. Our goal was to bring the magical and seamless experience from the best EVs, like Rivians, into this category. Fast Company’s recognition is a wonderful validation of our approach and the incredible combination of design and technology that the TM-B represents,” said Chris Yu, Co-Founder and President of ALSO.
Honorees were selected by a panel of top designers, business executives from leading organizations, and Fast Company editors.
“The Innovation by Design Awards have always recognized the ideas that challenge convention and show what’s possible when design is treated as a strategic force, not an afterthought. Congratulations to this year’s honorees, who demonstrate how thoughtful design can solve meaningful problems and create new possibilities for people and businesses,” said Brendan Vaughan, editor-in-chief of Fast Company.
