Former GTT Lead Independent Director Rod Hackman Joins Qtonic Quantum to Bring Cryptographic Risk Into the Boardroom

Former GTT Communications Lead Independent Director Rod Hackman has joined Qtonic Quantum’s leadership team. Hackman will work directly with corporate boards and management teams to translate highly technical cryptographic exposure into rank-ordered, business-language reporting, optimizing their investments in digital risk mitigation.

Miami, FL October 30, 2026 –(PR.com)– Qtonic Quantum Corp, the quantum risk and vulnerability intelligence company, today announced that Rod Hackman has joined its leadership team. Hackman, who served as Lead Independent Director of GTT Communications and has sat on seven public and private company boards, will lead Qtonic Quantum’s engagements with boards, audit committees and risk committees.

Every board already oversees cryptographic risk. Encryption protects payments, patient records, intellectual property and every remote connection a company makes. Few boards can see that exposure, and fewer can weigh it against everything else competing for the risk budget. AI is expanding the attack surface, and quantum computing puts long-lived encrypted data on a clock, because data stolen today can be decrypted later. Directors are left with technical reporting they cannot rank and decisions they cannot defer.

Hackman closes that gap. He will work with client boards and management teams to translate Qtonic Quantum’s cryptographic evidence into the language of consequence: which exposures threaten the business most, what to fund first and how to sequence the remainder with discipline.

“Enterprises cannot inoculate against all digital risk,” said Hackman. “However, with some educational and organizational changes, boards and management teams can address what is most important and timely, thereby optimizing their investment in digital risk mitigation. Without this, well intended digital risk mitigation actions devolve to throwing darts blindfolded.”

“Boards are being asked to oversee a risk most of them have never seen measured,” said Mark Schrick, Executive Vice President, Strategic Accounts and Global Alignments at Qtonic Quantum. “We measure it. Rod makes it decidable. He has sat in the lead director’s chair and knows exactly what a board needs in front of it to act.”

Hackman served as Lead Independent Director of GTT Communications, Inc., a global network services provider, where he sat on the Audit Committee overseeing major risk exposures, including data security. He has served on seven boards, two public and five private, and has advised boards and management teams on digital risk governance as RSM US executive advisor for board excellence. Earlier, he co-founded Mercator Capital, a merchant and investment bank focused on communications, media and technology, following nearly two decades in corporate finance at firms including Kidder Peabody & Co. He began his career as a U.S. Navy line officer supervising and operating shipboard nuclear reactors, a systems discipline that still shapes how he approaches enterprise risk. He holds a B.S. in Applied Mathematics from the United States Naval Academy and an MBA from Cornell University.
